Recently, we asked you to get your thinking hat on and write a short scene that will be performed live on stage by our Guild Wars characters. After judging all your entries, we finally have found our lucky finalists – although we have not yet decided about the final positions.
We will create a video of the winning entries when they will be performed in Leipzig, and will publish them together with the final order for the winners sometime after the Games Convention.
And now, without further ado, here are the lucky winners (in alphabetical order):
- Alanathe Ethelaer (Germany)
- Melanie Lauterbach (Germany)
- Robert Aleksander Szøke (Norway)
Congratulations!
Wednesday 13 August, 2008 Guild Wars PvP Challenge at the GC
As you have probably read by now, Sunday is dedicated to you, our players. As a special treat, we will not only have a Costume Competition, your Guild Highlightand the Set the stage event, between 16:00 and 17:00 MEST you will also be given the opportunity to test you Guild Wars PvP skills in an epic struggle versus Izzy Cartwright and the European Community Team! Interested? Then keep reading.
As you’ll have noticed, we have a one hour slot for the PvP challenge, so there are a couple of things you need to keep in mind in case you want to be one of the lucky participants:
- To be able to play, you will have to register at the Guild Wars Registration Desk on our booth. Registration will be open from 14:30 to 15:30.
- There will be a “first come, first served” system. We want to give as many of you as possible the opportunity to play against us, but obviously there are a limited number of spaces to fill. If you want to help your chances of entering, come early.
- To actually be able to play against as many of you as possible, we kindly ask you to come prepared: Have your characters ready (skills and equipment), have a team ready when you register (A “PvP enthusiast LFG to beat Dev n00bs” will not be frowned upon) and have a build ready. This will make sure that we will not lose valuable time.
- Have fun!
We are all looking forward to beating you - uhm, meeting you, of course – at the challenge!

Collect as much XP as you can to make sure that you’re one of the winners announced during the last show of each day. Read our event page for more details.

In this month’s Hero Battles, Bob Bien claimed victory over Yi Gi Oh Wtf Oo to become our July champion.

Thursday 31 July, 2008 Payment method changes in the in-game store
We are in the process of making our systems compliant with new security requirements that MasterCard have put in place for Maestro debit cards. Unfortunately, this means we will no longer be able to accept Maestro as a payment method in the in-game store for an indeterminate period of time.
This change will be implemented in the build that will go live next week and we encourage all players who usually use Maestro as their only payment method, and were thinking of purchasing character slots in the in-game store, to do so as soon as possible. The Guild Wars campaigns, the Bonus Mission Pack and the PvP Access Kit will still be purchasable through the PlayNC Store using the Maestro payment option.

Tuesday 22 July, 2008 NCsoft community party at the Games Convention 2008
In order to take a break from the many time-consuming activities that come with arranging events during GC 2008, as well as letting our players kick back after a full day of queuing, we will be organizing an awesome community party down-town Leipzig. The entrance will be free as long as you bring a printed flyer or wear an official NCsoft game t-shirt upon arrival. Does it intrigue you? Visit this page to find out much more about the party and how we may let you do a 20 minute DJ session.
