Euro Fraternity [FRA]
The banner for Euro Fraternity first started flying back in August 2005. At this time, members were still part of a French guild called Le Grawl Maniaque (LGM), a guild that had fought in over 100 GvG matches, for a short time putting them in the Top 5. This was a great time to learn about both strategy and tactics, and once members discovered the sweet taste of victory... there would be no turning back. They started to dream about glory and rising up the guild ladder, but this wasn't the main focus of LGM. Fascinated by the competitive aspect of Guild Wars, a small group of players decided to go it alone.
Coming up with a new name was easy: a French core, some European electrons and an unbreakable solidarity... Euro Fraternity was born. Today, FRA is a dozen strong, with the occasional new recruit joining an 'active test' - the best way to evaluate the spirit of a new player, and get them used to how the guild operates.
Even though FRA is exclusively oriented towards PvP, they don’t prohibit the PvE fun in their spare time. They openly admit how much they enjoy showing off with the new shiny toys they looted in PvE.
As for their future, FRA humbly and simply just hopes to still be playing together as a guild. They don't make big plans, they'd rather enjoy the here and now, always mindful that one minor issue is enough to break even the strongest of guilds. Their motivation is to uphold the values they hold dearest: respect, friendship and fraternity. So far, good fortune has been smiling upon them.
Kings of fair-play
Some of you might be thinking: "Why does this guild name sound familiar?" Look no further, it’s probably because you heard the Scribe (Random Act of Kindness) mention them. He talks about the random acts of kindness that Euro Fraternity shows in a GvG game. Whilst guild members might not be able to tell you how they got a mention, it's proof FRA has made fair-play a part of their everyday gaming philosophy.
During 'La Ligue', a PvP tournament organised by mmorpgs.info, FRA managed to reach the final stage of the competition where they were to face Flawless Addict (Flaw). Following a strong start, it soon became clear that their opponent had the perfect counter to their strategy. Following a disconnection, two players from the other side were dropped from the game. Rather than take advantage of the situation, FRA agreed to restart the match and didn't even attempt to change their build. They marched to their doom, heads held high, and whilst they lost (with dignity), they won the respect of the others.
Discussion PvP
Euro Fraternity now dedicates most of its time to GvG. Before that, members were mostly playing Heroes’ Ascent, and one can already see the results as they reach the 23rd place on the ladder (at the time of writing). It looks like they decided to take advantage of the ladder reset to stay on top of things. And even though their motto is "fun first", they try their best to be the most competitive.
Here is one of the "Degen" builds they often like to play. Its purpose is to inflict multiple curses upon the enemy, who will have a very difficult time to manage them because, at the same time, two warriors will be dealing serious damage. Euro Fraternity put in their personal touch by introducing an underused yet formidable curse: Panic.

Strategy
To succeed with this build, you need the following ingredients:
A Panic Mesmer who is played defensively and can prevent the enemy acting freely.
A Signet of Illusions Mesmer who will prove himself very useful considering the most of his skills will benefit from the 16 Illusion points; for example Scourge Healing in the Secondary Profession.
A Degen Necromancer who, just like the Mesmer, will be in charge of using the main skill Panic.
And lastly, Warriors are in charge of keeping the pressure high and executing the wounded foe. They can also add in a discharge role in conjunction with the two Mesmers.
So, is this build unbeatable? Well, yes and no. The originality here is the use of Panic, which the opponent won't be expecting. Thus, if the strategy is well executed, the enemy will have a really hard time to adapt to it. Nevertheless, if you end up facing a team shielded against Curses, the build efficiency will be compromised.

Location: Fontainebleau, France Favourite Character: Even if I really appreciate the Warrior who is my main character, I’d say Elementalist without any hesitation. It’s one of the rare characters who aren’t really endangered by Curses and Conditions; which makes it mighty to play and hard to counter, even more since he is casting from range and all his magic schools are powerful. Gaming Background: I like many game style: From FPS to RTS, passing by Races and Fighting. Position in the guild: Guild Master |
![]() Rage Lemming |
Location: Taverny, France Favourite Character: the Warrior is my favourite profession. For me, he is the best solution for a discharge or a pressure role. Besides, it offers a very good comprise when we split. Gaming Background: I love everything ! I spend my time on Guild Wars, but I keep myself updated on other games’ release (FPS, race, etc.). Position in the guild: Officer |

Location : Dreux, France Favourite Character: Monk. It’s the profession I’m playing 90% of the time. This is for one reason: I’m convinced a team will be more efficient if every member play the class they are the best at. Gaming Background: I have mostly played RPG, which led me to try Guild Wars out, when I decided to switch from PvE to PvP type of game. Position in the guild: Officer |
![]() Kim Poirier |
Location: Metz, France Favourite Character: Ranger. It’s a class like no other, with many faces: either as a fast damage dealer (Bow) or in a Pressure role (Conditions). He is also very good at interrupting, just like the Mesmer. Also, his expertise is very welcome in any kind of build. Gaming Background: My two favourite universes are MMORPGs and FPS. Switching from one to the other is what I like. Position in the guild: Officer |
![]() Bang Of Artemis |
Location: Lyon, France Favourite Character: It’s not the profession I like, it’s rather the way to play it. I really love when you have to target a full team instead of a single enemy. This means having the choice between the Necromancer and the Mesmer. Gaming Background: Besides a few LAN games, my main pleasure is to play Guild Wars. Position in the guild: Officer |
![]() C A S S E Dur |
Location: Monaco, Monaco Favourite Character: Monk is the only class I’m playing. Indeed, we think this class is vital to any team, so we need to make sure that people who play them have the goal to master them. Gaming Background: I’m a fan of console games. Guild Wars is the only reason why I own a PC. Position in the guild: Member |
![]() II Ruby II |
Location: Nice, France Favourite Character: Like my friends, I agree with the Monk policy: having people ready to play that profession and nothing else. I’m one of these players. Gaming Background: I like every game, whether on Console or PC. I don’t have any preferences; I like to try everything. Position in the guild: Member |
![]() Ex Hex |
Location: Toulouse, France Favourite Character: My favourite character is the Mesmer since it’s probably the one which totally depends on who is playing it. That’s why we often hear about "Good Mesmer" and "Bad Mesmer". It’s a great challenge to play that profession. Gaming Background: I think Guild Wars is a game which requires involvement, therefore, it’s hard to venture on other games. Position in the guild: Member |

Location: Fontainebleau, France Favourite Character: Mesmer. This is always a dangerous profession to face. I like its polyvalence. Gaming Background: I have been a great RPG fan. These games require lots of time, so now I’m done with them since I’m entirely dedicated to Guild Wars. Position in the guild: Member |
![]() The Barthy Clayton |
Location: St Quentin, France Favourite Character: I don’t really have a preference; I like to play everything, it depends on my mood! Gaming Background: Besides a few FPS, I play games which require involvement, like RPG. For now, Guild Wars is my priority. Position in the guild: Member |
![]() Binter Ftw |
Location: Lyon, France Favourite Character: I like to play Warrior, since it’s often the one who is "Leading" and that’s something I usually do when we play in Heroes’ Ascent. To the contrary, in GvG, I like "independent" classes. But I couldn’t tell which my favourite class is; it really depends on the build! Gaming Background: Like the others in my guild, I like some console games and my PC is mostly used to play Guild Wars. Position in the guild: Member |
